Metallica – Nothing Else Matters

So close, no matter how far
Couldn’t be much more from the heart
Forever trusting who we are
and nothing else matters

Never opened myself this way
Life is ours, we live it our way
All these words I don’t just say
and nothing else matters

Trust I seek and I find in you
Every day for us something new
Open mind for a different view
and nothing else matters

never cared for what they do
never cared for what they know
but I know

So close, no matter how far
Couldn’t be much more from the heart
Forever trusting who we are
and nothing else matters

never cared for what they do
never cared for what they know
but I know

Never opened myself this way
Life is ours, we live it our way
All these words I don’t just say

Trust I seek and I find in you
Every day for us, something new
Open mind for a different view
and nothing else matters

never cared for what they say
never cared for games they play
never cared for what they do
never cared for what they know
and I know

So close, no matter how far
Couldn’t be much more from the heart
Forever trusting who we are
No, nothing else matters

Those were the good old days. I wish they’d come out with another cool album.

I remember seeing the VH! docu, and how when that album came out, it was so vastly different than anything they had ever done, they lost some of their more “hard” fans. At the same time though they gained respect on a global level for making what some people thinkg of as the best record ever.

I agree with you but when you want to sell more, reach a vast public and be widely appreciated, you must necessarily loose a little of your identity.
